The implants of the Xpert Ankle range are intended for the fixation of fractures, osteotomies and pseudarthroses of the distal and the diaphyseal fibula, the distal tibia and for the syndesmotic repair in adults
Ankle fractures account for 10%1 of all fractures in adults. For this reason, Newclip Technics developed the Xpert Ankle range, which offers a comprehensive solution for the treatment of injuries to the medial, lateral, and posterior malleolus, as well as diaphyseal fibula fractures. Owing to their design and in-depth understanding of fracture typologies, these plates enable management of a broad spectrum of fracture patterns.
A 360° approach to the management of trimalleolar fractures.
Isolated fibula fractures account for 65–70%2 of malleolar complex injuries. For this reason, Xpert Ankle offers 5 plate sizes for fixation of distal fibula fractures via a lateral approach. The distal head provides a broad range of fixation options to address complex fractures.
In cases of associated syndesmotic disruption, present in 10%3 of ankle fractures, a syndesmosis screw or double-button fixation device can be placed in the dedicated holes.*
Each holes is lockable, offers polyaxial orientation, and can accommodate, depending on surgical requirements, Ø2.8 mm or Ø3.5 mm screws, locking or non-locking.
Available as a single-use kit – INITIAL A Xpert
Xpert Ankle also offers 3 sizes of straight lateral plates for fixation of distal fibula fractures via a lateral approach. The low-profile design and reduced width allow management of simple fractures.

Posterolateral fragments are present in 88%4 of isolated fibula fractures. For this reason, Xpert Ankle additionally offers 3 plate sizes for fixation of distal fibula fractures via a posterior or posterolateral approach.
Each holes is lockable, offers polyaxial orientation, and can accommodate, depending on surgical requirements, Ø2.8 mm or Ø3.5 mm screws, locking or non-locking.
Xpert Ankle offers a straight plate that can be applied to both the fibula and the distal tibia, available in 5 sizes.

In line with our 360° approach, posterior malleolus fractures can account for up to 44% of ankle fractures. 5
Xpert Ankle therefore offers 2 sizes of posterolateral plates for fixation of posterior malleolus fractures. If required, this plate can be used in combination with the posteromedial plate.
