The Alians Elbow Locking Plating System is intended for the fixation of fractures and osteotomies of the distal humerus and proximal ulna in adults.
The treatment of elbow fractures is a demanding challenge. The most common causes of these fractures are falls by osteoporotic elderly persons and high energy injuries or road accidents in younger patients. Intra-articular fractures require a stable joint reconstruction, which may be particularly complicated to achieve in elderly osteoporotic patients. Over the last few years double plate reduction (180° parallel or 90° perpendicular construct) has become the treatment of choice for the reduction of distal humerus fractures. The latest generations of anatomic locking plates specifically allow improving primary stability and having an improved control of the reduction for early activity recovery.
For extra-articular fractures, Y-plates that stabilise the two lateral and medial columns is an alternative to double plate fixation(1)(2).

Our philosophy: Optimise the management of elbow fractures and osteotomies.
To handle intra-articular fractures, a parallel construct is possible using :
- Medial plates (symmetrical, 4 sizes)
- Medial column
- Medial position
- Medio-lateral direction with distal screws
- Lateral plates (right and left), 5 sizes
- Lateral column
- Lateral position
- Latero-medial direction of the distal screws
To handle intra-articular fractures, combine :
- Medial plates (symmetrical, 4 sizes)
- Medial column
- Medial position
- Medio-lateral direction with distal screws
- Postero-lateral plates (right and left, 5 sizes) with pre-assembled lateral support that reinforces the construct
- Lateral column
- Dorsal position
- Postero-anterior and latero-medial direction of the distal screws
The treatment of olecranon fractures requires a stable anatomic reduction, respecting soft tissue and maintaining the extensor apparatus to enable fast mobilisation.
- Symmetrical narrow plate (1 size)
- Standard plates (3 sizes)
- Reduction of the width of the implant at the tip of the olecranon
- Anatomical plate profile designed in the intention of limiting soft tissue irritation
- 2 hooks inserted in olecranon process
- Monoaxial Ø3.5 locking system
- DTS3 polyaxial locking system to stabilise the olecranon and coronoid
The Y plates of our Alians Elbow range were designed to handle supracondylar or extra-articular fractures.
- 3 sizes of plates, right and left
- Kit dedicated to these plates
The Alians Elbow – distal humerus Y plate kit is available as a complement to the Alians Elbow kit, on request. The Alians Elbow – distal humerus Y plate kit cannot be sold separately.
Highlights of the Alians Elbow range.
- A wide range dedicated to the reduction of elbow fractures and osteotomies
- A wide range of mounting options to suit different surgical philosophies and allow all types of mounting (Y, 90°, 180°)
- Anatomical implants in the intention of respecting the surrounding tissue
- DTS3 polyaxial locking system
