A range of neutralization screws designed for the treatment of phalangeal and metacarpal fractures.

Phalangeal and metacarpal fractures are the second and third most common fractures of the upper limb, respectively, after distal radius fractures. Together, they account for approximately 40% of all upper extremity fractures.

Neutralization screw fixation represents an advancement in the management of phalangeal and metacarpal fractures. By combining stability, soft tissue preservation, and minimally invasive approach, this technique meets the key objectives of hand surgery: enabling early mobilization, promoting functional recovery, and reducing the risk of potential complications.

The implants in the Stand-Alone Screws range are intended for the fixation of fractures, osteotomies, and bone arthrodeses in adults, and are appropriately sized for the device.

A minimally invasive alternative for shaft fracture fixation.

NEUTRALIZATION SCREWS
  • Three screw diameters: Ø2.0 mm, Ø3.0 mm, and Ø4.0 mm.
  • Cannulated screws for guided insertion over the K-wire (Ø0.9 mm for Ø2.0 mm screws; Ø1.3 mm for Ø3.0 mm and Ø4.0 mm screws).
  • Non-compressive design to provide neutralization and avoid bone shortening.
  • Evolutive diameter to maximize cortical anchorage and optimize isthmus filling.
  • Self-drilling and self-tapping properties: both the screw tip and head have been specifically designed to facilitate insertion.
  • Mutualized instrumentation for Ø3.0 mm and Ø4.0 mm screws for simplified use.
LENGTH GAUGE – TEMPLATE

A 2-in-1 instrument for selecting the appropriate screw size: measurement of the isthmus diameter using the tip and measurement of screw length using the differential gauge.

REDUCTION TOOL
  • Designed to support bone fragment alignment and fracture reduction.
  • Cannulated instrument allowing guided positioning over the K-wire (Ø0.9 mm for Ø2.0 mm screws; Ø1.3 mm for Ø3.0 mm and Ø4.0 mm screws).
  • Pointed tip allowing insertion into the first cortex without pre-drilling.
  • Color-coded ring system enabling efficient selection of instruments corresponding to the screws used during surgery.
INSERTION AND REMOVAL GUIDE
  • Double function:
    • Facilitates screw insertion in cases of rotational instability.
    • Supports screw removal by providing anchorage when the screw spins freely due to loss of cortical engagement.
  • Radiolucent instrument.
  • Compatible with all screw diameters in the range.

Key features of the Inaxis Range.

  • A screw design specifically developed for phalangeal and metacarpal diaphyseal fractures:
    • Non-compressive design avoiding bone shortening.
    • Evolutive diameter adapting to the medullary canal.
    • Self-drilling and self-tapping features facilitating insertion.
  • Three screw diameters to accommodate various anatomies and fracture patterns (Ø2.0 mm, Ø3.0 mm, and Ø4.0 mm).
  • Mutualized instrumentation for Ø3.0 mm and Ø4.0 mm screws, simplifying operating room workflow.
  • Specific instruments designed to support the surgical procedure.
  • Available as a sterile single-use kit (INITIAL S Inaxis).
