The implants of the Initial A range are intended for the fixation of fractures, osteotomies and pseudarthroses of the distal and the diaphyseal fibula, the distal tibia and for the syndesmotic repair in adults.
Following the success of our Activ Ankle range, Newclip Technics proposes a solution for fractures of the distal fibula in a sterile single use kit: Initial A.
A plate, screws and specific instruments combined in a single kit ready at all times to allow surgeons and healthcare institutions to improve the efficacy of their operating theatres and increase their capacity.
Today, we propose 9 kits: 3 plate sizes for the right and left sides, 2 narrow symmetrical sizes and 1 syndesmosis kit.

Initial A kits are composed of implants and instrumentation for fractures of the fibula. These kits include one plate, screws, quick coupling drill bits, 2-in-1 instrument, length gauge, threaded guide gauge, handle for guide gauge, screwdriver and pins.
8 kits available:
- 3 plate sizes for right and left sides
- 2 symmetrical narrow sizes
Initial A Syndesmosis is intended for the fixation of the syndesmosis. This kit is composed of a quick coupling drill bit, non-threaded guide gauge, screwdriver and compression washers.
The screws are not available in the Initial A Syndesmosis kit, they are available separately in a sterile version (S-box).
The screws associated with this kit are:
- Non-locking ø3.5 mm screws (length 40 to 65 mm)
- Ø4.0 mm lag screw (length 40 to 65mm)
Initial A proposes 3 standard plate sizes for right and left sides. The design of these plates allows fixing complex fractures and may be used with or without management of the syndesmosis (Initial A syndesmosis kit).
Bending zones facilitate the congruence of the plate to the bone, especially on the diaphyseal portion, which presents considerable anatomic variability from one patient to another.
Initial A proposes 2 narrow lateral plate sizes. The design of these plates allows the fixation of simple fractures and may be used with or without management of the syndesmosis (Initial A syndesmosis kit).
Bending zones facilitate the congruence of the plate to the bone, especially on the diaphyseal portion, which presents considerable anatomic variability from one patient to another.
