The implants in the Initial F range are designed for arthrodesis, fixation of fractures and osteotomies, and revision surgeries of the foot in adults.
The Footmotion Plating System range includes arthrodesis plates specially designed for the first metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint, to optimize the surgical procedure. A medial approach provides easy access to the plate holes, positioned dorsomedial to the joint.
By combining the expertise of MTP arthrodesis plates with its know-how in single-use sterile kits, Newclip Technics has developed Initial F MTP to facilitate patient flow management and reduce the time it takes for them to be treated in the operating room. These single-use instrument kits allow the placement of sterile implants for arthrodesis of the 1st MTP.
The Initial F MTP range currently has single-use 8 kits: 3 standard plate sizes for the right and left sides, 1 narrow plate size for the right and left sides.

The Initial F MTP kits comprise implants and instruments for arthrodesis of the first metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint. Each kit includes one plate size, screws (locking and non-locking), pins, a screwdriver, a length gauge, a guide gauge handle, a quick-coupling drill bit, and a threaded guide gauge.
8 kits available:
- 3 standard plate sizes for the right and left sides
- 1 narrow plate size for the right and left sides
To prepare the articular surface, single-use convex and concave countersink kits (with 3 different diameters) are also available.
To choose the right implant size, templates are available separately for selecting both plates and countersinks.
A medial approach facilitates access to the holes positioned dorsomedially to the joint.
Unlike other implants, where the transarticular screw is positioned outside the plate, this MTP plate incorporates a transarticular screw with an orientation designed to avoid interference with the other screws in the plate.
The INITIAL F MTP kit range includes:
- 3 sizes of standard asymmetric plates for the right and left sides
- 1 size of narrow asymmetric plates for the right and left sides
To prepare the joint surface, single-use convex and concave reamer kits (available in three different diameters) are also offered.
