The implants of the Alians Elbow range are dedicated to the fixation of fractures and osteotomies of the distal humerus and proximal ulna in adults.

Treating elbow fractures is a demanding challenge as they are difficult to manage because of the surrounding soft tissues. The most common causes of these fractures are falls in osteoporotic elderly individuals and high-intensity injuries (such as traffic accidents in younger patients, for example…). Intra-articular fractures require stable joint reconstruction, which can be particularly complicated to achieve in osteoporotic elderly patients. In recent years, double-plate fixation (180° parallel or 90° perpendicular configuration) has become the preferred treatment for reducing distal humerus fractures, to support both the medial and lateral columns simultaneously.

The latest generations of anatomically contoured locking plates notably enhance primary stability and provide better control of reduction for early return to activity. For reducing extra-articular fractures, “Y-shaped” plates offer an alternative to the dual-plate configuration while ensuring stabilization of both columns.

The treatment of olecranon fractures, on the other hand, requires stable anatomical reduction while preserving soft tissues and maintaining the extensor apparatus for rapid mobilization. These fractures may be isolated or concomitant with a distal humerus fracture.

OPTIMISE THE MANAGEMENT OF ELBOW FRACTURES AND OSTEOTOMIES

To handle intra-articular fractures with perpendicular (90°) mounting, combine :

  • Medial plate (symmetrical, 4 sizes)
  • Medial position
  • Medio-lateral orientation of distal screws
  • Posterolateral plate (asymmetrical, 5 sizes) with removable lateral extension for a reinforced mounting and a support of the lateral column if required
    • Dorsal position
    • Posteroanterior and lateromedial orientation of distal screws
